Ardis Highby

Ardis (Hanson) Highby was born on December 16, 1922 near Dovray, MN, the daughter of Hans and Anna (Slette) Hanson. She graduated from Westbrook High School and attended St. Olaf College for 2 years. On June 22, 1946 she married Norris Highby in Dovray, MN. Ardis was a member of Old Westbrook Lutheran Church, participated with WELCA, garden club, and Country Brushes Art Club. She was an artist and enjoyed gardening, fishing, quilting, baking, crossword puzzles, and playing piano. Ardis died on Monday, October 29, 2007 at Valley View Manor Care Center in Lamberton at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her husband - Norris of Lamberton; children - Steve (Bonnie) Highby of St. Joeseph, MO, Dennis (Linda) Highby of Sidney, NE, Mary (Bill) Labanovic of Eagan, MN, Mark (Lori) Highby of Revere, MN, and Susan (Eric) Knutson of Burnsville, MN; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers - Herbert Hanson and Bud Hanson; and sisters - Gladys Johnson, Irene Peck, and Thelma Hanson in infancy.
