Ardis Christensen

Ardis Jane Christensen was born on July 11, 1927 in Butterfield, Minnesota to Walter and Marie I. (Burnett) Curry. She attended schools in Darfur and Comfrey, Minnesota. On May 13, 1944 she was united in marriage to Harold Christensen. She is survived by her children, Marcia (Jerry) Beech, Marlys Marks and special friend Jerry Behrens, Alan (LeeAnn) Christensen, Lucy (Jerome) Braun, Joleen (Steven) Jensen, Robert (Marlys) Christensen, Danny Christensen and special friend Cheryl Demming, Gerald Hornick, an AFS son, Esa Helakallio of Finland, 22 Grandchildren, 32 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren and a sister, Pattie Pankratz. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Walter and Marie I. Curry, her husband, Harold, in 1977, her daughter, Kathryn, in 1969 and her special friend, Harold Schiller, in 2001. Ardis worked at the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital, Control Data in Redwood Falls and Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing in New Ulm. She loved quilting, crossword puzzles, antique collecting and refinishing of furniture. She was an extraordinary cook who attracted many dinner quests.
