Ardella 'Dolly' Elsie Marie Honl was born July 17, 1920, in Springfield, MN, the daughter of Emil and Minnie (Harder) Otto. She was united in marriage to Vernard 'Fritz' Honl on November 6, 1944, in Morgan, MN. The couple lived in Clements until 1952, then moved to Springfield where Dolly had lived ever since. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Mary Magdelene Circle. Dolly was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #257 for 46 years, serving as President for 1 year and was a member of the Past Presidents. She also served as Secretary for 2 years. Dolly enjoyed her daily walks, painting, quilting, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and great-grandchildren. Ardella 'Dolly' Honl died Saturday, January 6, 2007, at the Springfield Medical Center-Hospital at the age of 86 years. She is survived by children- Susan and husband Floyd Rogotzke of Springfield, Steven and wife Louise Honl of Rice, MN, Thomas and wife Sandy Honl of Springfield, and Gail Honl of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and sisters- Emily Netzke of Sleepy Eye, and Hilda Tietz of San Antonio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Vernard 'Fritz' in 1972; son- LeRoy; grandson- Jon Honl; great-grandson- Matthew Rogotzke; and sisters- Luvera and Lois.
