Archie "Dick" Pearson

April 30, 1937 — March 19, 2022

Archie Dick Pearson, age 84, of LaSalle, died on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Living Meadows Health Care Center in Madelia. Funeral services will be 11am, Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James with Deacon Lyla Klee officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 9am. Burial will follow at LaSalle Cemetery with military honors provided by St. James Veterans Honor Guard. Archie Richard Pearson, Jr., was born in Soudan, Minnesota, on April 30, 1937. He was the son of Archie and Hulda (Sjostrom) Pearson. Archie and his father shared the same birth date. He was baptized into the Christian faith on July 25, 1937 at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Murdock, MN. He attended country school through the 7th grade then graduating from Murdock High School in 1955. Archie attended four years of High School Sunday School at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church where he also sang in the church choir. He served in the Minnesota National Guard and 2 years in the US Army Reserve. In 1956, he moved to LaSalle where he worked for Sletta Carpentry for several years before working for Kraft Foods. He worked for Kraft for 30 years retiring in 1992. Archie was a member of the American Legion Post 33 and Eagles Club both of St. James. He was also a member of the Hanska Lions Club where he had served as its President. Archie also served on the Corporate Board of the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia for 6 years. He was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia where he had served on the Church Council, as a deacon, and taught Sunday School for several years. He is currently a member of the Lake Hanska Lutheran Church. Following his retirement from Kraft he worked at Citizen Bank for a few years. He enjoyed going on many Bloomquist bus trips around the US and Canada. He enjoyed his trips to Europe including all of the Scandinavian Countries, 5 times to Sweden. In 1985, he made a Biblical tour of the Holy Land. He is survived by his sisters; Marlys Erdman of Belle Plaine, Faith (Wilmar) Tietz of Madelia, nieces and nephews; Jim Erdman, Shane Broughten, Kim Sawyer, John Erdman, Ruth Schaefer, Kris Wuorinen, Joel Erdman, Paul Erdman, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, and special friends Bill and Betty Berg.
