Archie Ostberg was born on September 17, 1923, to Chris and Tilly (Holte) Ostberg in St. James, Minnesota. He received his education and then enlisted in the United States Army and went to serve our country in World War II. After his honorable discharge in 1945,
Archie married the love of his life Gloria Barnes. This union blessed them with two daughters, Sharon and Sandra.
Archie worked for South Central Electric in St. James for many years. He enjoyed working there and made many friends throughout his employment. He worked there up until his retirement.
After his retirement, the couple moved to Harlingen, Texas, where they stayed for 37 years. Gloria passed away in September of 2020 in Harlingen, Texas. In the Spring of 2021, Archie wanted to move back to Minnesota to be closer to family. He moved to Oak Terrace Senior Living in North Mankato. He loved living there. He received amazing care and made many friends, which added time to Archie’s long life.
Archie was an all-around nice man. Everyone he met became a friend. To know Archie was to love him. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sharon (Leo) Keyes of Janesville, Sandra (Richard) Sawatzky of North Mankato; five grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gloria; and brothers and sisters.
