Anne Feil was born in Mt. Lake on August 21, 1912 the daughter of Gottfried and Katherine (Steinle) Feil. She was raised in Mt. Lake where she attended school. She worked at Volmen Cafe and various restuarants helping support the family during her teenage years. On November 29, 1935 she was united to Elmer Hansen at Spirit Lake, Iowa. The couple made their home on a farm North of Mt. Lake for 24 years before moving into town. She owned and operated the Corner Cafe in Mt. Lake for 16 years before retirement. She continued to live in her own home until March 2004 when she entered the Good Samaritan Village in Mt. Lake. Anne was always willing to help with grandchildren and making meals for huge family gatherings. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Gottfried, Fredrick, David and Henry, sisters Mary Volk and Bertha Goltz. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Roger Junker of Mt. Lake, Carol John Schultz of Jackson, Joanne Doug TenKley of Mt. Lake, 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Shirley Netsch of Mt. Lake, brother-in-law Norman Small of Mt. Lake, several nieces and nephews.
