Anna Weicherding

Anna was born on November 8, 1902 in West Newton Township, near St. George, MN, the daughter of Max Hoffmann, Sr. Anna (Seidl) Hoffmann. Anna grew up and attended school in Morgan. She married Joe Weicherding on October 18, 1921 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Anna Joe lived in Renville, Montevideo, Appleton, WI and Sleepy Eye. Anna taught school for a few years and then helped Joe with the Produce company. She later worked at the Berg Hotel and was the head cook at the Chief Hotel in Sleepy Eye. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. Anna enjoyed sewing, painting, babysitting and traveling. Anna M. Weicherding, age 103, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Monday, July 24, 2006 at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye where she had made her home since 1997. Survivors include her two grand daughters, two great-grandsons, sister-in-law, Adeline Hoffmann of St. James and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joe in 1977, son, James, grandson, John, four brothers, Max, Henry, Roman Joseph and three sisters, Tillie, Fronie Mary.
