Anna Klassen

Anna Elfrieda Fast was born on January 3, 1924 to John B. and Agnes (Wall) Fast in Mountain Lake, MN. She went home to be with her Lord on her 90th birthday. Ann grew up on her parents' farm in Mountain Lake Township. She graduated from Mountain Lake High School and Mankato Teachers College. She then taught for one year in Sanborn, MN before marriage. She was also a substitute teacher at Mountain Lake Christian School after marriage. On September 7, 1947 Ann married Harold Klassen at Bethel Mennonite Church. She loved living on the farm which Ann and Harold called home for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for over 66 years. Ann was a lifelong member of Bethel Mennonite Church and was very active in her church, serving in many different ways throughout the years. Ann was a wonderful cook and enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, and playing the piano. She will be forever remembered by her family as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who lived her life plainly and not worldly. Ann believed one of God's most powerful gifts was prayer. She lived by the example that God's saving grace took precedence over things of this world. Ann Klassen is survived by her husband Harold of rural Mt. Lake, MN. Her children: Orvil (Karen) of Windom, MN, Myra (Craig) Stoesz of Mound, MN and Pauline (Keith) Buresch of Lakefield, MN, a sister Dorothy Fast of Mt. Lake, MN, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and in-laws. She was preceded in death by a daughter Inez Klassen, a grandson Levi Buresch, a brother John T.
