Anna Janzen, the daughter of Peter P. and Katherine (Friesen) Janzen was born on November 7, 1915 at Bingham Lake, MN. She received her education at Cottonwood County Country School 16N. In August 1933, Anna was baptized upon confession of her faith at Gospel Mennonite Church in Mountain Lake, MN. Anna was united in marriage to Conrad C. Henze at her parents' home on October 2, 1935. They farmed in Watonwan County until 1972, when they purchased a home in Mountain Lake. Conrad died on August 21,1975. Anna continued to make her home in Mountain Lake until 1997, when she moved to St. Peter, MN. Anna worked at Butterfield Produce and then for 31 years in the dietary department of the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, where she served in the Altar Guild and Lutheran Women Missionary League, and she made the Baptismal Napkins for many years. After moving to St. Peter Anna was also active at Trinity Lutheran Church inSt. Peter. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She sewed quilts for her family and friends, as well as sewing many quilts for Lutheran World Relief, and she was a member of several quilting groups after moving to St. Peter. Anna died on Sunday morning, December 9, 2007, at the St. Peter Grandview Good Samaritan in St. Peter. Anna is survived by two sons, Ken Henze and his wife Bonnie of Pine City, MN, and Myron Henze and his wife Jan of Cleveland, MN; three grandchildren, Brenda Crubaugh, Brian Henze and Karen Torud; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Agnes Strand of Chisago City, MN; two sisters-in-law, Esther Janzen and Tillie Janzen, both of Mountain Lake; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter, Marcia Gunderson; three sisters,Elizabeth Graber, Helen Wilson and Katherine Junker; and six brothers, Peter, Henry, Cornelius, Abraham, John and Daniel Janzen.
