Angeline Roiger

October 10, 1939 — December 25, 2005

Angie was born October 10, 1939 to Florentine and Helen (Hornick) Mathiowetz. She attended country school and helped on the family farm. On October 24, 1959 she became the bride of Gerald O. Roiger at the Church of the Japanese Marytrs in Leavenworth, MN. Angie was a homemaker and helped Gerald maintain the family farm. In 1989, they moved into Springfield. Angie was a devoted and loving wife to Gerald until his death in September, 2002. Angie was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, St. Anne's CCW, and St. Raphael's Craft Group. She volunteered many hours to St. Raphael's Church and School and St. John Lutheran Home. Angie enjoyed going to her grandchildren's events and activities, volunteering, gardening, needlework, crafts, old time country music, and the Minnesota Twins, but especially enjoyed being with her family. Angie died on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Survivors include her children - Sandy and husband Tom Betlach of North Mankato, Greg and wife Linda of Springfield and Christine and husband Jan Davidson of Springfield; nine grandchildren - Staci and Kyle Betlach; Rachel, Ann, Michelle and Rebecca Roiger; Amanda, Scott and Brenna Davidson; mother-in-law - Phyllis Roiger; siblings - Alphonse Mathiowetz, Sally Helget, Don Mathiowetz and Carol Wendland; any many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister - Mary Ann Sturm and a brother - Gilbert Mathiowetz.
