Angeline Pankratz

Angeline Pankratz was born August 24, 1927, to Hubert and Teresa (Windschitl) Kotten in Brookville Township, Redwood County, MN. She graduated from St. Raphael Catholic School and Springfield High School. She was employed as a reporter and bookkeeper at the Advance Press prior to her marriage to Henry Pankratz on February 14, 1950. They celebrated their golden anniversary in 2000. Hank and Angie farmed three miles south of Springfield for 30 years, retiring to Springfield in 1980. Angie also was bookkeeper for Springfield Public Utilities, bookkeeper and clerk at Sward-Kemp Drug, and secretary at St. Raphael Catholic School. She was Past President of John Watson Unit, American Legion Auxiliary, and St. Raphael CCW. She served as lector and volunteered at St. Raphael Church and School and received the Bishop's Medal of Service in 1994 and St. Boniface Community Service Award in 1999. She was a life long member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. Angie enjoyed her family, quilting, cards especially bridge, oil painting, and crafts. Angie is survived by a son Ronald and wife Cindy Pankratz of Alexandria, MN; 3 daughters - Jacqueline and husband Greg Wennes of Spring Grove, MN, Debra and husband Steven Baumann of Marshall, MN, Gail and husband Thomas Hegland of Lino Lakes, MN; a daughter-in-law Karen and husband Joe Kral of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister Patricia Fesender of Menomonie, WI; sister-in-law Elaine Pankratz of Albertville, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Angie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry in 2001; son Mark in 1990; grandson Jason Pankratz; sisters - Mary Ellen (Norbert) Neid and Margaret (Henry) Thoma; brothers - Eugene and Darryll Kotten; brothers-in-law - Robert, Roman, and Clarence Pankratz, Darrel Fesender; and sister-in-law Adeline Pankratz First Visitation 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday, August 25, 2014 Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield Chapel 407 N.
