Andrew M. Sellner was born on June 28, 1917 on the family farm in Mulligan Township, MN, the son of Andrew B. Whilhelmina (Reiniger) Sellner. He moved to Sleepy Eye in 1922 where he grew up and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1935. He worked at A.J. Pietrus for a couple of years prior to raising turkeys. He served in the United States Army for two years. Andrew married Helen R. Dietz on October 7, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. After their marriage the couple lived and farmed south of Sleepy Eye. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Catholic Aid Society. He enjoyed fishing, old time music, listening to watching ballgames, singing on our way to Sunday mass. He took pride in teaching his grandchildren German. He is survived by his children their spouses; Tom Kathy, Dominic Julie, John Vicki; all of Sleepy Eye, Andrew, Jr. of New Ulm, Jim Judy of Comfrey, Jean Turbes special friend Lenny Klossner of New Ulm, Jeanette Steve Lax, Monica Rick Lax, JoAnn Ken Schumacher; all of Sleepy Eye, 21 grandchildren; Greg, Kurt, Josh, Noah, Ashley, Kristin Jennifer Sellner; Toni Turbes fiance Kraig Krueger, Jodi Jesse Buche, Lori, Paul Alex Turbes, Jeremy, Mike, Mark, Melissa, Molly Jonathan Lax; William, Emily Zachary Schumacher, sister, Leona Seidl, sisters-in-law, Catherine Sellner, Georgeen Dietz, Donna Sylvan Schumacher, all of Sleepy Eye. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen on December 28, 1999, grandchildren, Jeff Turbes, Christopher Lax, brother, Philip Sellner, brothers-in-law, Leonard H. Seidl, Clarence Spud Dietz and sister-in-law, Betty Dietz.
