There will be a parish prayer service at 7pm Monday at the funeral home. Alvin William Sellner, 83, of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Alvin William Sellner was born on January 10, 1925 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the son of John Philomena (Heller) Sellner. He served in the U.S. Army from March of 1945 until November of 1946. Alvin married Stella Dietz on July 25, 1951 and the couople made their home in Sleepy Eye. He worked at Ochs Brick and Tile in Springfield for over thirty years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye and the VFW. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and visiting with neighbors. He is survived by his wife, Stella Sellner of Sleepy Eye, daughter, Kathy (Denny) Varva of Mankato, brothers and sisters; Irene Seifert and Roger Sellner, both of Sleepy Eye, Doreen La Gare of Redwood Falls, Marvin (Dorothy) Sellner of Sleepy Eye, Judy (Chuck) Fearn of Minneapolis and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jerome, Jackie, Bobbie and a brother and sister in infancy.
