Alvin Edwin Rambow was born on December 27, 1923 in Springfield, MN, the son of William H. and Ella (Seidle) Rambow. He attended grade school in Springfield. Al and his twin brother Art played for the Springfield Tigers Baseball Team where they made the headlines in the Minneapolis Tribune. He entered the US Army and was stationed in the Philipines and was discharged in August of 1945. Al worked as a laborer for White Swan Flour Mill and Vigorena Feeds for many years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, swimming, bicycling, cross country skiiing and playing baseball when he was younger. Al died on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids, MN at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his twin brother - Arthur and wife Beverly Rambow of Maple Grove and two sisters - Elvira Meyer of Springfield and Eleanor Marsalek of Minneapolis along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers - Ervin and Wilbur and a sister - Adelia Fast.
