Allen Zimmer

Allen Afrom Zimmer was born on August 2, 1949, to Afrom and Alice (Willaby) Zimmer at the Bethel Hospital in Mountain Lake, MN. He was baptized at one month of age at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake. He attended Mountain Lake Public School and later moved to Bertha, MN, where he attended Bertha Hewett School. Allen was confirmed in 1964 at Bartlett Lutheran Church in Bartlett Township, near Bertha. In 1970, the family moved to Comfrey, MN and later to Storden, MN, where hehelped his Dad with farming. In 1996, they moved to Windom, MN. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family, his dog, Scruffy, the auto races at Jackson, and Polka. In 1996, he became a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom, and he enjoyed going to church when possible. He lived in Windom until his death on June 21, 2007, at the Heart Hospital of South Dakota in Sioux Falls, SD. Allen attained the age of 57 years, ten months and 19 days. Allen is survived by his parents, Afrom and Alice Zimmer of Windom; his brothers, Gordon and Vicki Zimmer, Donald and Deb Zimmer, and Thomas and Dawn Zimmer, all of Windom; his sister, Tammy and Chad Crowell of Windom; 11 nieces and nephews; six grand nieces and nephew; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas Zimmer and a brother in infancy; a sister, Jody Zimmer; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
