Allen Weston

Allen Wallace Weston was born on May 20, 1940 to Frank and Agnes (Weaver) Weston in Woodstock. He attended Mountain Lake High School before entering into the military. Allen served his country from 1957-64, first in the USMC and then in the Army. He was stationed in several locations, including France. He was the current Vice Commander of Mt. Lake American Legion Post 389. On May 8, 1965, Allen married Erma Cooper in Wisconsin. He worked as a truck driver for Balzer for many years as well as long-distance hauling. A great story teller, Allen had a remarkable sense of humor and his friendly nature enabled him to talk to anyone. He was also the kind of neighbor who would do anything and everything to help, regardless of the time. His grandson, Torrey, being very close, came to live with him and Erma where they worked on many projects together. Allen Weston is survived by his wife Erma of 48 years, daughters: Wanda and Paul Grundl of Mt. Lake, and Erica Weston of Westbrook, sons: Keith and Bridgette of Mankato, Paul and Crystal of St. James, and James and Jane of Mt. Lake, sister: Doris Kunkle of Madelia, brothers: Norman and Sandra of Minneapolis, Art and Virginia Ginny of Hugo, Earl andLucille of NC, and Leonard and Janice of FL, many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
