Allan Brown

Allan W. Brown was born August 24, 1931, in Mankato, MN the son of Alex and Lottie (Stinger) Brown. He attended country school through 4th grade, then attended and graduated from Comfrey High School. He married Bonnie Wendt on May 18, 1952. After graduation, Al began his own farming operation, while continuing to support the family farm. Al continued to farm, but also pursued his passion for driving truck. He owned and operated Brown Transfer for many years. Allan was never one to sit still. He was always busy with something, whether he was working in the shop, spending time on his yard, visiting with friends or spending time with family. Allan enjoyed many hobbies and recreational activities including camping, boating, motorcycling and snowmobiling. He enjoyed being outdoors and was a great caretaker of the land, planting trees, preserving wildfire habitat and caring for his properties. He enjoyed his time with family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. Allan W. Brown died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, children- Mark and wife Linda Brown of Springfield, Paula and husband Steven Junker of Comfrey, and Steven and wife Becky Brown of Comfrey; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
