Alice Runck

Alice Louise Runck was born March 12, 1917 in Brown County, the daughter of George and Emma (Lamp) Fonken. She attended and graduated from Springfield High School. On June 10, 1936 she was united in marriage to William H. Runck at the Evangelical United Brethern Church in Springfield. Alice worked with her husband in the Runck Hardware and Implement business. They retired in 1985. Alice enjoyed knitting, bowling, gardening, playing the organ and accordion, and vacationing at Green Lake. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield. Alice died on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 90 years. She is survived by her children - Lois (Ted) Schoonover of Farmington, MN, Charles W. (Katherine) Runck of New Ulm, Jean E. (Fred) Reiter of Alexandria, MN, and William (Bill) J. (Dianne) Runck of New Prague, MN; 12 grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill Runck in 2000; brothers - Louis, Ralph, and Vern; and sisters - Elva and Loretta.
