Alice Radtke

Alice L. Radtke, age 103, died on January 5, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Home.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Raphael's Catholic Church. Interment will be at the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery.

Alice Loretta Radtke was born on June 8, 1922, in Cottonwood County, Minnesota, the daughter of Joseph and Clara (Saffert) Kastner.

Alice Received her education in rural school, District #79 in Germantown Township. She was united in marriage to Burnett Radtke on November 25, 1941, in Sanborn, MN. After their marriage they farmed near Cobden, MN for five years before farming near Sanborn, MN. She was employed at Del Monte in Sleepy Eye, MN for several years. From 1971 until 1997, she was employed at Bassett's Meat Center in Sanborn. In September of 1995, they retired from the farm and moved into Sanborn. Bernie died on February 19, 1999, in Springfield, MN.

Alice was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Sanborn, the Ladies C.C.W and the West Stately Extension Club. She enjoyed embroidery, flowers, gardening, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, John (Maureen) Radtke of Brookings, SD, Jeanne Schmidt of Ghent, MN, her grandchildren Kelly Schmidt of St. Joseph, MO, Jordan (Jill) Radtke of Sanborn, MN, Trevor (Lisa) Radtke of Brookings, SD, Christina (David) Kampmann of Sioux Falls, SD, Brianne Radtke and special friend Shawn Lindner of Brookings, SD; great grandchildren, Parker and Ian Kampman, Libby and Zoey Radtke, Dezmond Lindner; one brother Wayne (Diane) Kastner of Springfield, MN.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Steven Schmidt, one grandson Jeromy Radtke, brothers Joseph (Delores) Kastner, Raymond (Evelyn) Kastner, and one sister LaRue (Donald) Simonson.
