Alice Mae Lange, the daughter of Henry and Ella (Schultz) Mielke, was born on May 11th, 1928, in Morgan, MN. She was baptized at birth and then confirmed March 29, 1942 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Morgan, MN. Alice attended and graduated from Morgan High School. She soon met her "love of her life," Gerald Lange, and they married June 4, 1947, at St. John's Lutheran Church. She helped with the farming in Lamberton Township of Redwood County, assisted with the bookwork end of their custom spraying business while keeping a top notch home. Alice's Christian faith was very powerful in her life as was shown by how she lived. She gave herself to others with her multiple volunteering activities: Setting hair, visiting with, and reading to the residents at the nursing home, making quilts with church lady friends for those in need, teaching Sunday school, serving on church funeral committee baking or helping at funerals or other church activities until about 5-8 years ago and in her earlier years Gerald and she sang in the church choir. Alice moved into the Lamberton apartments in 2004, then to Redwood's Garnett Gardens in 2013. Alice loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren attending as many of their activities as she could. She loved talking with friends/family and complete strangers, gardening and food preservation, making multiple quilts, and crocheting, watching the Twins or Timberwolves play. She would never turn down a good game of 500, dice, Mexican Train Dominos, or really any game to keep her mind going. She was always willing to learn something different including i-pad use. Alice Mae (Mielke) Lange died April 16th, 2015, at the Redwood Falls Hospital at the age of 86 years.
