Alice Bodin

Alice Schmidt was born on October 8, 1920, in Butterfield, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Mathea (Flogstad) Schmidt. Alice grew up in Butterfield where she attended school. On October 22, 1938, she was united in marriage to Rudy Bodin. The couple moved to North Dakota where they farmed for three years before returning to St. James where they farmed. In 1950, they moved into St. James and Alice went to work at Scherr-Tumico where she worked until she retired. She enjoyed reading, crafts, bingo and traveling. She also loved her pets and spending time with family. Alice moved into Brandt Ridge in November 2008 and into Pleasant View in November 2013. She is survived by her daughters; Rosalie (Leo) Heinrichs of St. James, Judy Lyons of Kingston, ID, 3 grandchildren; Joe Sonnabend, Darren Sonnabend, Bryon Lyons, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband; Rudy, daughter; Joanne (Dallas) Swain, parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
