Alfred Charles Klinkner, age 92, of New Ulm, MN, passed away on April 29, 2021, at Woodstone Senior Living in New Ulm, after several years of advancing dementia. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel in Madelia. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed, including the use of masks and social distancing. A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Madelia, on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm. The clergy will be Fr. Timothy Hall. Military rites provided by the Madelia Area Veterans Honor Guard. Alfred Charles Klinkner was born in Bluffton, MN on February 13th 1929 to Frank and Margaret (Voyderbruggen) Klinkner. Raised in farming, he went on to make a home for himself in Champlin, MN where he raised two sons, Charles and Jason, and had a 32 year career working for Hennepin County. Alfred enjoyed family gatherings, dancing, travel, tinkering, and his grandson, Samuel. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Roberts) Klinkner of New Ulm; sons Charles and wife, Joy, and their son, Samuel of Maple Grove, and Jason of Oak Island, NC; brothers Melvin, and Luverne, and sister Luella. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, and 5 sisters.
