Aleide Reika Junker, the daughter of Henry H. and Fenna (Farrels) Junker was born on September 14, 1910, in Selma Township, Cottonwood County, MN. She attended Cottonwood County Country School. Aleide was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church (now New Hope Lutheran Church) in Comfrey, MN, and this is where she remained a life long member. On June 17, 1931, Aleide married Bert Evers in Comfrey, and this union was blessed with five children. Bert and Aleide made their home and farmed together in the Mountain Lake, Sanborn and Comfrey area. After her husband's death in 1967, Aleide moved from the farm into Comfrey, where she remained until moving to Mountain Lake, MN in 1969. Aleide entered the Eventide Nursing Home in Mountain Lake on October 1, 1999, and on February 18, 2003, she moved to the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. She enjoyed caring for her family, and baking and cooking for them. She also enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Senior Dining Center in Mountain Lake and playing cards with her neighbor ladies. Aleide Evers died on Tuesday evening, January 3, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake, MN. Aleide is survived by two sons, Lester and his wife Helen Evers of Windom, MN, and Larry and his wife Terry Evers of Apple Valley, MN; two daughters, Lucille and her husband Wayne Bennett of Windom, MN, and Arlene and her husband Earl Karschnik of Mountain Lake, MN; a son-in-law, Dennis Bernloehr of Bloomington, MN; a brother, Rudy and his wife Dorothy Junker of Mountain Lake, MN; and she was very proud of her 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. Aleide was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bert; a daughter, Ruth Bernloehr; a granddaughter, Lori Evers; a son-in-law, Alvin Karschnik; four sisters, Henrietta Junker, Carrie Lingbeck, Fannie Werner and Lizzie Kleinow; and four brothers, Gust, Henry, Uko and Ben Junker.
