Albert Reiner

Albert Joseph Reiner was born on December 4, 1922, in Bashaw Township, Brown County, the son of Frank and Ernestine (Sturm) Reiner. He was united in marriage to Elaine Prokosch on April 8, 1947, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye. The couple farmed north of Sanborn for many years. Albert took great pride and loved being a farmer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Thomas Catholic Church where he served on the church board, Sanborn Industrial Development Board, Farmers Golf and Health Club Board, board member of the Farmers Elevator and the bank in Sanborn and a former Lions Club member. Albert enjoyed time with his family, golfing, gardening, singing with the Chordhustlers and church choir, fishing, playing cards, and hunting. He will be remembered by many as a kind friend, true gentleman with an outgoing personality. Albert died on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Home at the age of 90 years. He is survived by his children - Joyce (Dave) McConville of Winona, MN, Marge (Nick) Conyers of Sanborn, MN, Russell (Deb) Reiner of Palo Cedro, CA, Glen (Dorothy) Reiner of Alexandria, MN, Jack (Jo) Reiner of Sanborn, MN, Sara (Bill) Schaffran of Lamberton, MN, and Paul Reiner of Grass Valley, CA; 24 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and a sister - Lorraine (Bill) Lueck of Excelsior, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife - Elaine in May of 2007; brothers - Alfred "Fritz", Rich, and Eddie; sisters - Marcella, grandson - Jeremy, and great grandson - Owen.
