Albert Polzin

Albert Carl Polzin was born on July 18, 1918 to Herman and Frieda (Arndt) Polzin in Brown County, MN. He was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield where he was baptized and confirmed. On December 11, 1943, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Pabst in Sanborn, MN. This union was blessed for four children. Albert was a carpenter and retired from this job at the age of 62, but continued working in his woodshop making beautiful furniture. The couple moved into Springfield in March of 2000. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Albert died on Friday, January 3, 2014, at Gil Mor Manor in Morgan, MN. He is survived by children - Barbara (Roger) Vanderwerf of Springfield, Beverly (Gene) Thorston of Springfield, Betty Irlbeck of Sanborn; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother Melvin (Ann) Polzin of Belview, MN; sister Laura Borchert of Springfield. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lorraine in 2012; son Gary; son-in-law Jim Irlbeck; step grandson Jimmy Rose; brothers - Walter and Raymond Polzin; brother-in-law Randall Borchert; and sister-in-law LaVonne Polzin.
