There will be a parish prayer service at 7pm Sunday at the funeral home. Albert was born on September 12, 1934 in Springfield, MN the son of Joseph Frances (Linsmeier) Lax. He moved with his family to Leavenworth where he grew up and attended District #12 country school. Albert married Dorothy Helget on September 18, 1956 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. The couple made their home near Leavenworth where Albert farmed for his entire life. He was a member of the Church of the Japanese Martyrs where he was on the parish council, school board and a trustee. Albert truly loved farming and having dairy cattle. Survivors include, his wife Dorothy of Sleepy Eye, children, Steven (Jeanette) of Sleepy Eye, David (Mary) of Owatonna, Judy (Joe) Schwartz, Deb (Scott) Beltz, Randy (Diane), Rick (Monica), Lisa (Ron) Moldaschel, Cindy (Dell) Marti, all of Sleepy Eye, Amy (Michael) Branham of Cold Spring and Sara (Karl) Sand of Spicer, 29 grandchildren, Jeremy, Michael(Cheyenne), Mark, Melissa, Leah, Angela, Nathan, Jennifer, Molly Jonathan Lax, Tim (Cassie) Brian, Emily, Liza, Jake Molly Schwartz, Nick (Alicia) Adam Beltz, Amanda (Chris) Gartner, Joe Holly Moldaschel, Jamie, Hannah, Natalie McCoy Marti, Cody Cole Hoffmann, Alex Belle Sand, 4 step-grandchildren, Ted (Crystal) Gray, Michelle (Darin) Gatje, and Pat Paul Wichmann, 5 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren, brother, Joseph Lax of Cole Valley, IL, brother-in-law Donald (Delores) Helget of New Ulm and sister-in-law, Martha Helget of Franklin. Along with his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his sisters, Clarice (Tom) Drexler Frances Lax, grandson, Christopher Lax and step-grandson, Jamie Gray.
