Agonia M. Wilfahrt was born July 11, 1912, in Siegl Township, Brown County, the daughter of William and Bonhilda (Tessmer) Lendt. She attended District 10 school, St. John's Lutheran School, and graduated from Sleepy Eye High School. She was united in marriage to Frederick 'Fritz' Wilfahrt on November 3, 1931and the couple moved to Evan in 1937. Agonia was the treasurer for the city of Evan for several years, worked at Star Cleaners, Del Monte, and the Orchid Inn. Agonia was an excellent seamstress and provided her skill for many area families. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, quilting, sewing, collecting butterflies, and watching the birds. She especially enjoyed playing with her great-grandchildren. Agonia M. Wilfahrt died Wednesday, October 15, 2008, 20 years to the day of her husband's death, at the New Ulm Medical Center at the age of 96 years. She is survived by daughter- Joan and husband Alan Stimpert of Sleepy Eye; granddaughters- Sandra and Pamela Stimpert of Sleepy Eye; great-grandchildren- Dustin, Mallory, Craig, D.J., and Abigail Wagenseller; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother- Robert Lendt of Sleepy Eye; sisters-in-law- Rose Lendt of Nevus and Elva Lendt of Nevada; nephews- Robert and wife Marlene Zimmerman of New Ulm, Jim Lendt of Sleepy Eye, and Tom Lendt of the Twin Cities; nieces- Connie Lendt of Nevada and Joyce Keese of California; grandnieces- Peggy Hauser of New Ulm and Joyce Thom of Minnesota Lake; and many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Fred in 1988; sisters- Irene Zimmerman and Cleora Thurow; and brothers- Eldon, Dennis, and Donald Lendt
