Agnes Tauer

November 18, 1919 — October 11, 2010

Agnes Ann Tauer was born on November 18, 1919 in Stark Township, MN, the daughter of Frank Theresa (Seidl) Schroepfer. She attended school in Stark Township and St. Mary's in Sleepy Eye. Agnes married Edwin Tauer on June 5, 1939 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. After their marriage they moved to a farm in Mulligan Township where they raised cattle, hogs and chickens until they retired from farming in 1982. Agnes also worked for Del Monte for 25 years. They built a new home in Sleepy Eye which she enjoyed decorating. In December of 2006 Agnes moved to Sleepy Eye Care Center. She was involved with the Schoenstatt Sisters, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Society. She enjoyed her large chicken barn, gardening, cooking, dancing and traveling. After retiring Edwin and Agnes used their talents to create numerous wood working projects that were enjoyed by many. She is survived by her husband, Edwin Tauer of Sleepy Eye, children, Sylvia (Carl) Willaby of Gurnee, IL, Elaine Walden of Cape Girardeau, MO, Gerald (Donna) Tauer of Clarkston, MI, Kenneth (Darlene) Tauer of Sleepy Eye, Debra Tauer of Sherburn, MN, Jeanette (Larry) Lalim of Jordan, MN, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister, Rosella Hillesheim of Sleepy Eye, brothers, Sylvester (Pearl) Schroepfer, Jerome (Arlene) Schroepfer, all of Sleepy Eye and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Clement, Felix, Edward, Raymond, Florian, Walter, Albert, sister, Lorraine Weiss and granddaughter, Traci Walden.
