Agnes H. Goblirsch

September 29, 1932 — September 24, 2022

Agnes H. (Hayek) Goblirsch, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Wallenta) Hayek, was born September 29, 1932, in Olivia, MN. Agnes graduated from Olivia High School, attended Business school, and worked as a Legal Secretary for a probate judge at the Olivia Courthouse upon completion of her degree. On August 25, 1962, Agnes married the love of her life, Eugene Goblirsch, whom she met at a dance at the Orchid Inn. This union was blessed with three children, Patrick, Kathleen, and Sandra. Agnes lived her marriage vows and cared for Eugene during the last several years of his life. Agnes learned the value of working hard living on a farm. She loved the outdoors including yard work, vegetable and flower gardening, mowing grass, raking, bird watching, being in nature, walking, and helping on the farm. Canning, baking, making candy, reading, and working on jigsaw puzzles are just a few of the ways she kept active indoors. She was a fabulous cook, and it was no coincidence that visitors often arrived around mealtimes. Learning and teaching followed Agnes throughout her life, well beyond her years of being a 4-H Leader where she loved working with children. Agnes valued the simple things in life and was driven to live life to the fullest. She was a dedicated and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who had strong values and unending patience. Faith was very important to Agnes. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the CCW. Agnes passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester, MN at the age of 89. Agnes is survived by her children, Patrick Goblirsch of Sleepy Eye, MN, Kathleen (Jamie) Jencks of Mantorville, MN, and Sandra Goblirsch of Rochester, MN; grandson, Elliot Jencks, sister, Dorothy (James) Brazil, and many neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Wallenta) Hayek; husband Eugene Goblirsch; and siblings, Joseph Hayek, Jr. and Mary Ann Hayek.
