Agatha Diedrich

May 22, 1910 — September 21, 2005

Agatha Rosalia Diedrich was born on May 22, 1910 in Madelia Township, MN the daughter of Henry Frances (Keber) Kunz. She was the 2nd of 8 children. Agatha grew up in Madelia and attended the Catholic School later graduating from Madelia Public High School. She taught school at Sioux Valley, Watonwan Country Schools and St. James Catholic School. Agatha married Lawrence Diedrich on August 25, 1948 at the Mater Delarosa Church in Madelia. After marriage the couple lived in St. James, in 1957 they purchased a farm in St. James Township where they farmed until Lawrence retired. She returned to college and graduated from Mankato State in 1969. Agatha remained on the farm until moving to Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in December of 1999. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church, CCW, Catholic Daughters, Christian Mothers. Club 21, St. Theresa Study Club and also was a 4-H leader. Agatha enjoyed sewing, quilting, (especially for the missions) baking, flowers, gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include Daughter, Lucille husband James Ammann of rural Butterfield, and their children Mary, JoAnn and Sarah, Daughter, Cindy husband George Brust of Minneapolis, and their children, David, Susan and Michael, brothers, Ray Kunz of Madelia, Clem wife Edna Kunz of Madelia and Rev. Francis Kunz of Mankato and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, sisters, Sr. Agatha Kunz, Sr. Beatrice Kunz, Sr. Lucida Kunz, brothers, Robert wife Evelyn Kunz and sisters-in-law, Agnes Kunz, Christine husband Alois Spitzner, Mary husband Jack Conroy, brothers-in-law, Ed wife Pearlette Diedrich and Clarence Bud Diedrich.
