Adeline Lange

Adeline Anna (Orth) Lange, 91, formerly of Sleepy Eye died on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Lakeview Health Care Center in Fairmont, MN Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. Service will be held at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:30 AM The Clergy will be Pastor Kevin Draper Interment St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm. Adeline was born on August 19, 1915 at the family farm in rural Essig, MN to Otto Amelia (Krueger) Orth. She was baptized on September 26, 1915 at Zion Lutheran Church in Essig by Rev. Wm. Albrecht; her sponsors were Fred Wotschke and Meta Orth. She completed the 8th grade at rural school district #50 in Milford Township. Adeline was confirmed in the German language in Essig at Zion Lutheran on March 24, 1929. Adeline helped on the family farm and worked in Sleepy Eye as a housekeeper prior to her marriage. On January 22, 1936 she married Bernard Lange at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Parsonage in New Ulm in the middle of a blizzard. They made their home on the Lange Family Farm for 58 years. In 1994 they moved to Sleepy Eye where they lived for 11 years before entering Lakeview Health Care Center/ Assisted Living Campus in Fairmont, MN. Adeline was a full-time housewife and mother of two daughters. Adeline will be remembered as an avid gardener. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, embroidering, quilting, playing cards, cooking and baking. Her chocolate chip cookies are fondly remembered by all grandchildren. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and a member of the Ladies Aid. She is survived by her daughter, Shirleyann husband Bob Talle of Blue Earth, son-in-law, Randy Gregg of Chaska, 5 grandchildren; Michelle (Mark) Graham of Mankato, Erica (Robert) Nowak of Burnsville, Trent (Rebecca) Talle of Eagle Lake, Jennifer (Luke) Neve of Cologne and Amy Gregg of Chaska, 5 great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Alyssa Graham, Logan and Colin Talle and Jakub Nowak. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard of 70 years in April, 2006 daughter, Sandra in 1999 and sister, Evelyn Petersen in 2003.
