Adeline Kubly

Adeline Kubly, age 85, of St. James, died on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Thursday, March 8, 2012, at St. James Catholic Church in St. James with Father Thien Nguyen as celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. James. Visitation will be 5:30pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James with a Rosary at 5:00pm. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Adeline Frances Haler was born July 2, 1926, in St. James, MN, the daughter of John and Frances (Ries) Haler. Adeline grew up on the family farm near St. James. She attended rural school. On May 5, 1947, she was united in marriage to Orville Kubly. The couple made their home on a farm East of Madelia for a couple years before moving to their current farm just South of St. James. Adeline loved cooking, baking bread and buns, canning, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting and gardening. She was active in the Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, church circles, Jolly Homemakers Extension club, American Legion Auxiliary in St. James and the D.A.V. of New Ulm. She enjoyed playing cards and listening to polka music. Adeline is survived by her 5 sons; Robert, Duane, Lyle and Ralph all of St. James and Glenn of Truman, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, brothers; John Lora Mae Haler of St. James, Lawrence Ruth Haler of St. James, Walt Greta Haler of Elmore, and a brother-in-law; George Anacker of St. James. She is preceded in death by her husband, Orville, parents, John Frances Haler, son, Virgil Kubly, grandson, Nathan Kubly, sister, Caroline Anacker, nephews Maurice Haler, Gary Kubly, nieces Karen Wilhm and Lanelle Sado.
