Adeline Klassen

December 13, 1916 — October 9, 2014

Adeline Helen Klassen was born on December 13, 1916 in Mountain Lake, MN to the late Henry G. and Maria Dick. She received her education in country school through the 8th grade. She didn't have the opportunity to attend high school but later did attend Mountain Lake Community Bible School. Adeline accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age and was baptized at First Mennonite Church in Mt. Lake. On Sept. 27, 1940 Adeline was united in marriage to Frank Klassen at the First Mennonite Church. They were blessed with 4 children, Joyce, Loren, Carol and Arlen. They lived on the farm for 40 years. In 1981, they built a new house on 6th Avenue in Mountain Lake. Through the years, Adeline enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and reading and going on trips. She also enjoyed keeping records of family ancestry. She was involved in her church and enjoyed singing in groups and was active in the church kitchen. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her twebach and dill pickles. Two years ago, Adeline became a resident of The Good Samaritan Village. During her time there she enjoyed the trips she was able to take, being outdoors, going out with family and having lunch at Subway and talking on the phone with her children, sister, and others. Her favorite Bible verse has always been John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." She passed away on Thurs., October 9, 2014 at the age of 97 years. Blessed be her memory.
