Adeline E. Hoffmann, age 98, of St. James died on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Society in St. James. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am, Friday, April 20, 2018 at St. James Catholic Church in St. James with Father Timothy Hall as celebrant. A Christian Mothers rosary will be recited on Friday at 9:15am at the church followed by visitation until service time. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in St. James. Adeline Alma Seehusen was born on the family farm near Danube, MN, on June 13, 1919 the daughter of Henry T. and Anna (Strey) Seehusen. Adeline grew up in the Danube area and attended school through the eighth grade. She then helped at home on the family farm. On November 30, 1939, she was united in marriage to Max Joseph Hoffmann in Renville, MN. The couple made their home in several communities, Renville, Sioux City, IA, Worthington, Tracy and St. James in 1957. She worked as a supervisor at Tony Downs Foods. Adeline had a lifelong desire to belong to the Catholic Church and a deep devotion to Mother Mary. She also enjoyed fishing, refinishing woodwork, crocheting, gardening, baking and traveling. She and Max enjoyed traveling with Pat and Randy to medical conferences where they took in local attractions. They also enjoyed their vacations to Germany, Alaska and time spent at Lake Vermillion. Adelines greatest joy was her family and her Church. She is survived by her children, Karen (Dick) Meyer of Bloomington, Maxine (Jerry) Howe of Gibbon, Mary (Roger) Collins of Stoughton, WI, Max John (Diane) Hoffmann of St. James, Michael (Jolene) Hoffmann of Avon, Patricia (Dr. Randall) Gall of West Salem, WI, Ruth (Larry) Mikkelson of Hanska, sister, Viola Revier of Olivia, 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Joan Humphrey and husband Ron Humphrey, grandson Mark Mikkelson, 2 sisters and a brother. Visitation 1 9:30 am - 10:30 am Friday, April 20, 2018 St. James Catholic Church, St. James 623 4th Street S. Saint James, Minnesota, United States 56081 9:15am Rosary Friday at church.
