Zona Morck Krinke was born to Hazel and Carl Morck of North Branch, MN on Feb. 3, 1922. The family of seven relocated to White Bear Lake. She graduated from the high school there and attended a clerical/secretarial school. She met Donneth Krinke while sharing a ride back to the Twin Cities after visiting with relatives. Donneth enlisted in the Navy and attended flight school in Iowa and then was stationed in Pensacola. They made plans to be married in WBL but Don's leave was canceled. Zona and Doris Krinke got on a train and went to Florida and the marriage took place on Feb. 6, 1945 at the Naval Chapel on the Pensacola Air Base. When Don was released from the Naval Service, they bought a farm northwest of Lamberton, where they resided until retirement. They built a respected herd of registered Holsteins. Two children, Constance and Randi were born to them. Zona worked at a Lamberton insurance agency for a number of years and then was one of the original employees at the University of Minnesota Agricultural Experimental Station, working as the office manager. She worked there until retirement. Zona was a very active member of the Lamberton Methodist Church and the local Women's Federated Club, The Reading Club. She enjoyed cooking and baking and together with Don would do marathon apple pie-making to havest the apples from the trees in the front yard. The freezer was always loaded. She was also a master of several types of needlework and the girls had closets full of handknit skirts and sweaters. She served as a coach for the duration of the girls' 4-H activities, and was a cheerleader for the girls at the Achievement Day, County Fair and State Fair where the cattle were primped and posed. She greatly enjoyed being outdoors and playing golf and bridge with Don and her women friends. Lake Miltona was a part-time summer residence and held a big spot in their hearts. She was predeceased by Donneth on Aug. 22, 2002. After a few years she moved to Roseville and resided in an apartment in a Presbyterian Home right off Snelling Avenue, living very close to her only surviving sibling, Connie Henderson. While a resident there, she belonged to Centennial Methodist Church and she took advantage of any opportunity to attend area musical events. She enjoyed a close relationship and dinner partner with Dea Morck, her sister-in-law while living at Eaglecrest. In 2018 she and her sister Connie both became charter residents of The Rosemount at the Steeple Center in Rosemount, MN where they enjoyed having their own apartments but sharing dinner every evening. Her niece Marcia Behm and friend Jim Dibley were highly important in her life, facilitating appointments and doing errands, making life much better. She was a member of The Well Church in Rosemount during her residence there. Siblings who predeceased her were Marian Morck Hubert, Vera Mae Morck and Darwin Morck. Burial will be at the Lamberton Cemetary, next to her beloved Don. Service Information 10:00 am Saturday, August 21, 2021 The Well 14770 Canada Ave. W.
