Viola Gisvold

Viola O. Gisvold was born November 15, 1915 in Decorah, IA, the daughter of Ole and Selma (Orvella) Anderson. She attended and graduated from the Decorah High School. On July 9, 1941 she married Alvin Gisvold in Mankato. The couple moved to Springfield following their marriage. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Springfield and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed watching sports, playing Bridge, and being with her family. Vi died on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 89 years. She is survived by her son - David and wife Vangie Gisvold of Dundas, MN; grandchildren - Kim and husband Philip Burfeind of New Brighton, Jay Gisvold of Winona, and Lee and wife Tammy Gisvold of Hampton; and great grandchildren - April and Betsy Burfeind and Elleanna Gisvold. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Alvin in June of 1995; and a sister - Gladys Glesne.
