Trudell (Oren) Peterson was born on December 3, 1929 in St. James, MN to Tilmer and Iona Oren. Trudell grew up in rural LaSalle and graduated in 1947 from St. James High School. She studied at the Mankato Commercial College and was employed for clerical work in several businesses in the Mankato area. Trudell married James Peterson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna, MN on July 18, 1951. The couple resided in Hanska, MN and moved to Madelia in 1963. They were blessed with three children: Tim, Linda and Carol. Trudell enjoyed baking and having coffee with friends in her birthday club. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia, active in Circle and other committees within the church. She also served as President of the American Legion Auxiliary in Hanska. Trudell was a loving mother and grandmother, who cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Trudell Peterson age 88, of Madelia, MN died on August 26, 2018, at Crystal Seasons Assisted Living Center in Lake Crystal, MN. Trudell is survived by her children, Tim (Kay) Peterson of Madelia, Linda (Tom) Kunz of Madelia, Carol Peterson (Tom Sullivan) of Mankato; sisters-in-law, Janet Peterson of Park Rapids, Audrey Peterson of Eden Prairie, Avis Petterson of Northfield, Phyllis Madson of Bloomington; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Peterson in 2015; her parents; brothers-in-law, Lee and Phillip R. Peterson, Larry Petterson, Norm Madson, and infant great-granddaughter, Jual DeVos.
