Thelma Boldt was born to John Victor and Bernice Pearl (Huber) Olson on 11/11/1929 in Mountain Lake, MN. She was the fifth of seven children and was the last surviving sibling. Thelma spent her childhood growing up in her beloved Mountain Lake; graduating in 1948. She worked starting and an age of 16 for Basinger Coffee Shop and Paskeys Café as a waitress. She met the love of her life Leo Boldt in 1948 when visiting a mutual friend in the hospital. They were married on Valentines Day in 1949. To the union of Leo and Thelma four children were born, Bruce, Bryce, Merle and Sheila. Thelma worked various jobs but valued and enjoyed her time when she worked at the hospital as a CNA. Thelma accepted Christ as her personal Savior and her faith was always strong being baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Thelma was a breast cancer survivor at the age of 42. She went on to do counseling at the Mt. Lake Hospital for those diagnosed with breast cancer. In 1978 she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer of which she was one of a few that survived this devastating disease thru her faith and stubornness and the hands of Dr. Glick and Dr. Wiens. Thelma loved to spend time at the cabin at Fish Lake. She loved gardening with her tomatoes being her most prized crop. Thelma continued her love of flowers and would plant many even while at the nursing home.Thelma is survived by her 4 children, Bruce (Jen) Boldt, Bryce (Janet Wolff) Boldt, Merle (Cyndi) Boldt and Sheila (John Moore) Boldt. Grandchildren Jill, Tim, Jaime, Zach, Chris, Jeremiah, Bethany, Angie and Casey and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother-in-law Dennis Boldt, Sister-in-law Marlene Rachie and Lorraine Olson. Thelma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Leo, her parents, parents-in-law (Nick and Marie Boldt) and siblings Larry, Arnaldine, Raymond, Orville (Fuzzy), Lillie and Marlin.
