Sylvia C. Sellner was born December 10, 1921, in Mulligan Township, Brown County to George and Rose (Prokosch) Zwaschka. She was united in marriage to Norbert Sellner on April 27, 1943, in Comfrey. The couple farmed in Mulligan Township for a few years before moving to Selma Township where they farmed until retirement. Sylvia was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, served as Treasurer of St. Mary CAA, and was awarded the Bishop's Medal in 2005. She enjoyed playing in the bell choir, old time music, crossword puzzles, Scrabble, and supplying eggs to many friends and neighbors. Sylvia especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Sylvia C. Sellner died Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Benedictine Health Center in St. Peter at the age of 94 years. She is survived by children- Eugene (Bonnie) Sellner of Mankato, Beverly (Richard) Sanders of Rochester, and Deanna Sellner of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren- Scott (Lana) Sellner, Keri (David) Traub, Laurie (Bobby) Riepe, Daniel Sanders, Gregory (Karen) Sanders, and David (Annie) Sanders; great-grandchildren- Hannah and Emily Sellner, Maxwell, Carson and Lauren Traub, Ryan, Kyle, Peter and Lewis Sanders, and baby Riepe on the way; sisters- Phyllis Mathiowetz of Hopkins, Winnifred Mathiowetz of Sleepy Eye,and Rita (Robert) Rivard of Eden Prairie; and sister-in-law Cecilia Zwaschka of Comfrey. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Norbert in 2009; sons- Glen and Dean; brother Richard; and brothers-in-law Anton and Arthur Mathiowetz.
