Steven A Winseth

Steven Allen Winseth, formerly of Revere, now Brainerd, Minnesota was born June 24, 1952, and was adopted on August 22, 1952 to Agner and Aletha Moore Winseth of Revere, MN. He was born in Swedish Hospital, Hennepin County, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Steven was baptized at Old Westbrook Lutheran Church, September 14, 1952, by Pastor Edmund E. Olson.He attended school in Lamberton Special Education for several years. He then was moved to group homes in Faribault, St. Peter, Willmar, Windom, and Lakefield area in 1979. He spent his days working at Woven N’ Wood during the school calendar year. On February 11, 2020, he was transferred to Lutheran Social Service-Oriel House by Brainerd, MN. This has been a wonderful caring home for him, close to all his family. He attended Brighter Horizons, Adult Day Center three - four days a week. When he was in Windom, MN, he loved going on outings with his one-on-one former Howard Davis to sporting events, and trips to the Dairy Queen. He enjoys going out to eat at restaurants whenever the occasion arises. He loved making weekly calls to his sisters, Robin and Bonnie and their spouses. He loves spending time together with family for several days around Easter, summer birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. He enjoys spending time with his nephews and their wives and the 7 great nieces and nephews too.

Steven died on May 17, 2024, at the Oriel House by Brainerd, MN, at the age of 71.

He is survived by his sister, Robin and husband John Leegaard of Battle Lake, MN, sister, Bonnie and husband, Charlie Peterson of Lunenburg, MA. Nephew-Jeremy and Melissa Pape, Kelsey, Kasey, Kaleb of Motley, MN; Justin and Sherry Pape, Alex and Lucas of Pequot Lakes, MN; Jeffrey and Miranda Pape, Finley and Jayce of Brainerd, MN. A special friend who worked with Steven for many years, Judi Rand of Windom, MN. Several cousins, and his roommates and employes of Lutheran Social Services, Oriel House, and friends from Brighter Horizons Adult Day Center, Brainerd. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother-in-law, Eldon Pape.
