Shirley Wendt

Shirley Ann Wendt was born on September 9, 1943 in Brown County, the daughter of Raymond and Adeline (Eckstein) Walter. She attended school in Sleepy Eye, MN. Shirley moved to a farm near Springfield and raised five children. Her hobbies included bowling on a league, baking, dancing at the Orchid Inn, having coffee with her best friends, shopping at Wal-Mart, and spending time with her children. Nothing put a bigger smile on her face than being with her grandchildren. Shirley worked at Del Monte for a number of years and at St. John Lutheran Home for 10 years. Shirley died on December 27, 2008 at the St. John Lutheran Home at the age of 65 years. She is survived by her children - Julie (Mike) Downing of CA, Jean Koehler of AZ, Jodi (David) Suess of MN, Joyce (Alan) Kerr of MO, and Jason (Sherri Janshen) Wendt of MN; 9 grandchildren - Melissa Koehler, Melinda Koehler, Ashley Anderson, Tyler Long, Allyson Kerr, Austin Kerr, Hunter Kerr, David Suess Jr, and Samantha Wendt; a great grandchildren - Dominic Koehler; brothers - Richard (Denise) Walter and Raymond (Marlene) Walter; and aunts - Betty Liebel, Emma Konmz, and Elaine Pankratz. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister - Donna Fischer.
