Shirley Marilyn Karau

Shirley Marilyn Sherman was born to Earl Thomas and Mildred Sherman on March 5, 1936 in Trimont, MN. She was a graduate of Truman High School. She married Murten Gustav Karau at the Waverly Lutheran Church on October 9, 1954. The couple was blessed with four children: Douglas, Brenda, Kevin and Barb. They lived on their family farm until 1993 when they moved to town in Madelia, MN. Shirley worked as a homemaker most of her life. After her children were grown she began working at Tony Down's and was employed there for nearly 25 years. In her free time, she enjoyed hobbies such as gardening and traveling. Shirley passed away on June 26, 2017 after a three month battle with Multiple Myeloma. Shirley is survived by her children, Douglas (Mona) Karau of Emerald, WI, Brenda (Jim) Miller of Buffalo, MN, Kevin (Terri) Karau of Amboy, MN, Barbara (Roger) Warnke of Arlington, TX; brothers, John (Joanne) Sherman and James (MaryLou) Sherman both of Truman, MN; 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Murten Karau and parents, Earl and Mildred Sherman.
