Scott Guggisberg

Scott Allen Guggisberg, of rural Sanborn, MN, passed away June 29, 2025, at the Redwood Falls Hospital following a brief battle with cancer at age 67.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 10:00am until 11:00am at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn, MN. Memorial Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The clergy will be Rev. James Renz. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Wanda, MN. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.

Scott was born October 22, 1957, to Roy G. and Marjorie (Dahms) Guggisberg in Redwood Falls, MN. Through the waters of Holy Baptism, Scott received saving faith in the Triune God at Trinity Lutheran Church, Willow Lake Township, on November 10, 1957. This life of faith was nurtured through his continued presence at worship services and Bible instruction leading him to publicly confess his faith at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn, MN, at his confirmation on April 4, 1971.

Scott attended Sanborn Public School from Kindergarten until his high school graduation in May of 1975. His career goal was to continue the family business, farming in Willow Lake Township near Wanda, which he did until his passing. Scott was a farmer at heart his whole life and always willing to help others. He was an accomplished organist and knew his way around the kitchen as a great cook and candy maker, which he generously shared.

Scott is survived by his three siblings - Roy H. Guggisberg of Sanborn, Jim (Doris) Guggisberg of Redwood Falls and Sharon Gieseke of Maple Grove; eight nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
