Sandy Middleton

April 7, 1947 — March 28, 2015

Sandra Joyce Middleton was born on April 7, 1947, in Windom, MN, the daughter of Dick and Lois (Klinker) Menken. She moved with her family to Pipestone and later by Lake Wilson. The first four years of her education were spent in country school and then she attended Balaton Public School. In 1961, the family moved to Slayton, where she finished her education - graduating from Slayton High School. Sandy held various jobs; working at Campbells Soup Company, Slayton Nursing Home, and the Ben Franklin Store. She met Allen Middleton at the Windom Roller Rink and the couple was married on April 19, 1969, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Slayton. The couple moved to a farm near Springfield in 1969. Sandy worked for St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, Ross Park in Sleepy Eye, Sleepy Eye Care Center, Golden Homes, Gil-Mor Manor in Morgan, and Brickstone in Comfrey and enjoyed working as a care giver over the years. Sandy died on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at her daughter's home in rural Sleepy Eye at the age of 67 years. She is survived by her husband - Allen Middleton of Springfield; children - Mike (Jen) Middleton of Washington, DC, LuAnn (Linus) Kruse of Sleepy Eye, MN, Jolene (Doc) Theisen of Sleepy Eye, MN, and Dick "Bud" Middleton and fianc Nina Paur of Springfield; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters - Judy (Les) Hakeneis of Avoca, Carol (Jim) Reiss of Taunton, Dick (Dianne) Menken of Minneota, Becky (Delbert) Kirlin of Avoca, and Tom (Sheila) Menken of Fulda. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and 2 brothers - Dean and Gareth.
