Ronald Lee "Ron" Bocock was born on May 15, 1950 to Robert Earl and Sylva Faye (Leaver) Bocock in Madelia, MN. Ron lived on the family farm his entire life. He only left the farm to serve in the United States Army from 1970 - 1972 with a tour in Germany. Growing up, he attended country school, LaSalle Elementary and was a graduate from St. James High School in 1968. He commuted from the family farm to attend technical school in Mankato while pursuing an ag degree. On September 2, 1983, he married Susan Schulte. Together they raised their children, Darin, Mark and Christa on the family farm. After Sues passing in 1997, Ron married Debbie (Jamieson) Johnson on January 1, 2000. Ron considered himself a very lucky man to have loved so deeply not only once, but twice. Ron served the community in many ways. He was a member of the South Central Cattlemens Association of MN, the Madelia Lake Crystal Insurance Board of Directors, Watonwan County Soil & Water Conservation Board, the CFS Advisory Board, Farm Bureau and the American Legion. He was also a very active member of LaSalle Lutheran Church, serving in many ways. In his free time, he loved Western films, especially those starring John Wayne. Working on the farm was his passion, to which he was very devoted throughout his life. There was nowhere else he would rather be than at the farm with family and his constant companion, Molly. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Ronald Lee "Ron" Bocock age 68, of Saint James, MN died on July 26, 2018, at the farm in Saint James. Ron is survived by his wife, Debbie Bocock; children, Darin Bocock & his fiancee Pam Anderson, Mark (Kristina) Bocock all of St. James, Christa (Greg) Galvin of Alta, IA; Angie (Tim) Hilzinger of Richfield, MN, Chris (Sarah) Johnson of Mahtomedi, MN; grandchildren, Megan, Victoria, Jake, Katie, Hayley, Tierney, Jordan, Addison, Alyssa, Kaiden, Josh, Ethan, Kyla, Jenna, Nick (Chelsie), Lauren (Yete), Rachel, Kayla, Lily and Kristen; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Mya, Kirin and Leland; cousin, Lovona Bengtson and his beloved dog, Molly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sylva Bocock; first wife, Susan Bocock, and his uncle Lavern, and aunt Virginia Farrell.
