Ronald Clark Simpson age 59, of Madelia, Minnesota went to be with his higher power due to heart complications on December 17, 2015, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minnesota surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ronald Clark "Ron" Simpson was born to Richard "Dick" and Nylene (Jahnz) Simpson in Madelia, MN on May 20, 1956. Ron was a lifelong resident of Madelia, graduating from Madelia High School in 1974. He attended vocational school in Mankato for electronics. Ron was most recently employed as an electronics technician with E.I. Microcircuits, Inc of Mankato, MN. Ron enjoyed camping trips and traveling with his family as a child. Travel was something he enjoyed throughout his life. Ron took several trips, driving to several destinations, including California, Colorado and the Black Hills. He was a person who appreciated solitude. He described a solo hike around the Devil's Tower in Wyoming as a spiritual experience, simply being alone among God's beautiful creation. Ron was a spiritual person and a person of strong faith who had overcome hardships in his life. A dedicated member of AA, he never missed a meeting and regularly made the coffee for the members each time. Ron recently achieved 30 years of sobriety. Ron was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be dearly missed. Ron is survived by his parents, Dick and Nylene Simpson; brother, Todd (Deb) Simpson; nieces, Heather and Haley Simpson; aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Harold and Clara Simpson, Elmer and Maurita Jahnz, and uncles, Harley Jahnz, Don Ray, and Paul Beving.
