Roger Mark Klinkner

Roger Mark Klinkner was born to Francis and Evelyn (Batterson) Klinkner on November 5, 1943. Roger was the 3rd oldest boy of 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Roger's family moved to Madelia, Minn. when he was 3 years old. He grew up in Madelia and was a graduate of Madelia High School in 1962. After high school, Roger served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany from 1963-1965. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Madelia and was united in marriage to BettyLou Dauer on June 9, 1966 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm, Minn. Roger worked as a diesel mechanic, employed by Madelia Implement for many years until he became self-employed at Northside Repair. Roger was a hard worker, he loved working with his hands and did so until the end of his life. When he was not busy with his work, he enjoyed being in the outdoors, deer hunting and was a member of the American Legion Post 19. Roger was often present to support his grandchildren in their activities and will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Roger Mark Klinkner, age 73, of Madelia, Minn. died on October 2, 2017, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm, Minn. Roger is survived by his wife, Betty Klinkner; sons, Randy Klinkner, Ron (Tina) Klinkner; grandchildren, Mitch and Lexi Klinkner; siblings, Irene (David) Landgraff, Frank (Sandra) Klinkner, Mark (Evelyn) Klinkner, Mike (Joan) Klinkner, JoAnn (Keith) McKee, Gary (Gloria) Klinkner, Steve (Donna) Klinkner; sisters-in-law, Gloria Peterson, Jeanette (Dennis) Guhlke; brothers-in-law, Dennis Dauer, Jerry (Ann) Dauer, Mike (Pat) Dauer, along with many nieces and nephews.
