Richard Syverson

February 25, 1942 — January 2, 2013

Richard Howard Syverson was born on February 25, 1942 in St. James, MN, the son of Clarence and Selma (Hanson) Syverson. He grew up and attended country school near Godahl and graduated from Sleepy Eye High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years stationed in San Diego, CA and Norfolk, VA. Upon returning from military service he worked for 3M in New Ulm, MN until his retirement. Richard enjoyed tennis, fishing and hunting and especially golfing. He spent much time with family, his brothers and sister and nieces and nephews. He is survived by sister, Janet (Harlan) Templin of Tucson, AZ, sisters-in-law, Donna Syverson of Sleepy Eye and Carolyn Syverson of Bloomington, MN, nieces and nephews, Clay, Ford, Tracy, Robin, Debi, Stacey, Darcy, Pamela, Tamera, Jay and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles and James.
