Richard Anton

Richard Joseph Anton age 75, of Saint Peter, MN, formerly of Madelia, MN, died on May 18, 2024, at Benedictine Living Community in Saint Peter.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Sturm Funeral Home, Madelia Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Madelia, on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 11:45 am.

The clergy will be Fr. Timothy Hall. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Madelia.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Madelia.

Richard Joseph Anton was born to Edward and Dorothy (Meurer) Anton in Vesta, MN on June 11, 1948.  Richard married Ann Rankin on August 5, 1972.  This union blessed the couple with a daughter and son, whom they raised in Lake Crystal, MN.  Richard worked for more than 35 years as an equipment operator for North Star Concrete and later, worked for Hewitt Docks before retiring.  He enjoyed going to farm auctions, antiquing and refinishing wood furniture.  Richard always collected and crushed cans to sell.  He also enjoyed visits with his grandkids.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Clayton) Dawson of New Richland; son, Rodney (Jill) Anton of St. Peter; grandchildren, Ryker Anton, Logan and Calleigh Bock; brothers, Eddie Anton of Mankato, Dave (Joann) Anton of Maple Grove; sisters, Mary Swenson of Mankato, and Kathy Anton of Nicollet.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Anton; infant son, Ricky Anton; parents, Edward and Dorothy Anton; siblings, Jerry and Roger Spiess, Pat, Jim, Joe, Mavis and Nancy Anton.
