Raymond W. Lang was born May 3, 1935 on a farm in rural Springfield to Frank and Cecelia (Vogel) Lang. He attended St. Raphael School. On January 12, 1954 he married Mary Lou Shoen at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Comfrey. The couple moved to Springfield where Ray began his career at Ochs Brick and Tile Company. Ray and Mary Lou raised four children. In 1997, Ray retired from Ochs Brick due to health issues. He was a life-time member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Minnesota National Guard, American Legion Post #257 and the Springfield Police Reserve. Ray was a handyman and was forever working on motors and home improvement projects. He loved the outdoors and outdoor sports, especially camping and fishing. During his retirement years, Ray enjoyed lunch outings with his wife and visiting his friends, especially those at the fitness center. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. Ray is survived by his wife - Mary Lou of Springfield; children - Larry and wife Jean Lang of Glenwood, Jerry Lang of Mankato, Steven and wife Gina Lang of Springfield, Diane and husband Jeffrey Schultz of Springfield; grandchildren - Jacob Lang, Sarah Lang, Katrina Schafer, Brandon Lang, Bob Lang, Ashlee Lang, Jesse Davis, Justtina Davis, Jennifer Schultz, Jacqueline Schultz, Jeama Boerboom and Dillon Schultz; 3 great grandchildren; brother - Leo and wife Margaret Lang of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers - Joseph and Frank, Jr.
